   The renter is always responsible for damages which are not covered by any of our insurance, see examples at the bottom of this page or in our Terms.

• Platinum

  Super Collision Damage Waiver: Deductible: 0 ISK.
  Gravel Protection:                        Deductible: 0 ISK.
  Tire Insurance:                             Deductible: 0 ISK.
  Sandstorm Protection:                 Deductible: 0 ISK.
  Theft Protection:                          Deductible: 0 ISK.
   

  You can use your debit card/prepaid credit card as a guarantee if you also buy this Platinum Insurance.

• Collision Damage Waiver

  Collision Damage Waiver is included in the rental price, the driver’s liability is excess of ISK 390.000. for small cars and ISK 490.000. for SUV´s and buses.

  The renter is always responsible for the following damages, which are not covered by CDW insurance: e.g. negligence, driving while intoxicated, damage to tires, headlights, windshield, damage caused by wind blowing up doors, damage to the under carriage, damage caused by gravel and damages to the engine of the car. Please note that towing and rescue is never included except with Platinum package or Roadside assistance package.

• Gravel Protection

  Gravel insurance covers damage to paint and headlights by gravel.

• Theft Protection

  Theft Insurance covers total loss of the vehicle if stolen.

  The vehicle must have been locked and left in a secured way.

• Sandstorm Protection

  Sandstorm Insurance covers damage from ash or sandstorm.

   

  The damage to paint, glass and plastic parts can be very costly, up to 5.000.000 ISK.

• Windshield protection

  Covers damage to the winshield/glass when gravel or rocks get thrown on the vehicle by another car.

• Third party liability

  Third Party Liability is included in all Insurance packages. It is a form of liability insurance that covers you when someone makes a claim against you for damages.
